(My obeisance to Sage Parasara who gave us the treatise Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra; Sage VarahaMihira who wrote the Brihat Samhita Hora, and the current astrologers Joni Patry, Komilla Sutton, Satish Menon and a host of other experts who have made astrology comprehensible to the layman. I am attempting this essay only because of them. Any errors are only mine)
As somebody who is getting to understand astrology, it is becoming more and more clear that whatever the placements of planets, we are doled out results due to our collective karma. To put it simplistically, it is like a computer program and the results depend on what data we feed in. In a nutshell, everything is our hands now- all depends on how we behave, how we think and how we react. Planets keep doing their thing, but astrologers keep an eye out to alert us so that our actions or inactions are appropriate and navigate the times.
A lot is happening in November. Mars and Mercury go direct, Venus and Sun move out of their debilitation, Jupiter goes into debilitation and the month ends with a lunar eclipse.
It can be turbulent, so we must keep our balance and be conscious of the many changes. I would have loved to give a summary of the events but like the rest of the year, this month too has so much happening in the Universe that we need to break things down.
October 31st: Let us start with the 2nd full moon of last month also known as the ‘Blue Moon’. It was the Shukla Purnima in Aries (Mesha Rashi) in the Bharani Nakshatra. The blue moon in Aries in Vedic astrology is an emotional one, with respect to other transits.

November 3: Mercury Direct 1 degrees Libra: Mercury has been retrograde last month and in the earlier part of the year too. This has led to mass media giving us conflicting messages and the common man is still searching for the truth – making it the most extreme time of 2020. In our daily mundane life, every time the internet failed or you had to scurry for a good place to get signals it reminded me that Mercury was retrograde. This month Mercury turns direct in Libra on November 3rd and this indicates that any repressed communication from the previous month will begin to move forward. The sign of Libra represents balance and this indicates that any inconsistency will even out.
This encompasses mass-media and with an important world event like the United States presidential election happening on this very day. This is an important transit. The last time this occurred in the same sign (Libra) was on the United States election day in 2000 and it was seen that the results of the elections were not finalized for a while. This could well happen again with postal ballots, voting and all connected with election. After all the whole world is affected with what happens in the United States.
An important point is that Mercury is placed in the Chitra nakshatra, that is ruled by Mars, and Mars is in the Revati nakshatra, which is ruled by Mercury. This placing these two planets mutual exchange of signs is known as in Parivartana. Again this points to the fact that discerning the truth and communication will be the greatest challenge.
We could expect mass hysteria and violence at this time. It is advised to pull yourself away from constant need to get the news. Don’t engage in stressful conversations till November 6th. Be conscious about what you are contributing to.

November 7: Mars aspects Sun (8/6)
This is the Shadashtak yoga as I had previously mentioned in an earlier article . The 8th aspect of Mars on Sun (leaders and governments) also indicates to violence and problems and attacks on governments and leaders.
12th, 13th and 14th of November are days with powerful energy. And here’s why.
November 12: Jupiter conjunct Pluto 28 degrees Sagittarius
Pluto was discovered nearly 90 years ago on February 18, 1930, by Clyde W. Tombaugh as the 9th tiny and distant planet by using a new astronomic technique of photographic plates combined with a blink microscope. However, in 2006, the International Astronomical Union changed the status of Pluto from a major planet in our solar system to a dwarf planet in a realm called the Kuiper belt. It was also the time when building on scientific breakthroughs made during the 1930s, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and free France collaborated on the ‘Manhattan Project’ during World War II, to build a fission weapon, also known as an atomic bomb.

In November, Jupiter conjuncts Pluto and this conjunction, astrologers say, represents a major explosion of emotion and even possible dangerous events – as Pluto pertains to atomic energy. However, it revolves more around the explosion of emotion and radical rectitude in the sign of Sagittarius and the nakshatra Uttara Ashadha. The sign Sagittarius and the nakshatra (Uttara Ashadha) rules radical belief systems – political as well as religious. This placement demands truth behind all that is going on in the world.
These planets had met up like this in January ‘20 along with Saturn under the influence of an eclipse, (though this time Saturn is a few degrees apart) and that was the time when Brexit fell apart, Trump’s impeachment was going on, Australia was burning, the virus had started it’s scourge. Infact, this is happening for the third and final time before moving on. The last two times that this transit hit, there was a spike in coronavirus cases and as we see it is happening already.
The powerhouse of Pluto can change things at a molecular level and Jupiter magnifies everything several thousand times.

All said and done, it will be very transformative. Watch out, watch out, watch out for extremism and social uprising.
But this power can be harnessed positively by individuals to do good! Help the needy, be empathetic, do some charity, plant trees, look at how your personal habits are affecting the environment – this will go a long way.
November 14: Mars Direct 21 degrees Pisces
Mars that has been retrograde since September 9th will go direct in Pisces on November 14th on Deepawali day. Mars has been going back and forth and this indicates tectonic shifts as was mentioned in my previous article and we just got the news about the earthquake in Turkey and Greece measuring 7.0 Richter scale and this was followed by nearly 800 aftershocks.
And whenever a planet changes direction, it stations or stands still for a while. This is the point when its energies are most intense. Mars that was retrograde has surfaced anger and hostilities from the past and with the planet now going direct, we can now focus on how to heal it. It is the time when issues with the virus will intensify. So we have to wait till December 24th, when Mars moves out of Pisces for the virus issues to abate. Ofcourse, the shift of the nodes have already started the job of healing (within 18 months).
It is time to understand the reason of this anger, process it, and finally let it go. When we are lied to or subjected to deception, anger is obviously a natural emotion.
But this is a warning that we should not hang onto anger as this only eats into our mind and being and affects our health. It is a good time to just lie low and let it pass. While it is good to have your voice heard, do not contribute to the mass violence. As the aphorism goes ‘A rising tide lifts all boats‘ – so live your best life and be positive. Become the calm, in the eye of the storm.

November 15: New Moon 29 degrees Libra
&
November 16th: Sun enters Scorpio
The changes of the previous days is closely followed by a New Moon!!
The new Moon occurs at the last degree of Libra on November 15th. New moons mean beginnings and this transit does indicate a significant change.
But the fact that the Sun will enter into Scorpio right the very next day represents realisations that could lead to more social unrest for the world.
This is in the natural 8th house. This sheds light on some secrets that may be hidden.
Furthermore, the fixed star Antares or Jyeshtha is at 15 degrees Scorpio. Antares appears as a single star when viewed with the naked eye, but it is actually a binary star, with its two components called α Scorpii A and α Scorpii B and is the brightest object in the Scorpius constellation. Antares is the 16th brightest star in the sky, and it is located in the southern half of Earth’s sky. The name Antares has Greek origins. The word Ares (Mars) is nestled into the name Antares. The prefix ‘ant’ meaning “anti-” or “opposing.” So, in a way, the word Antares means, “Not Mars!” . This is the star of war and indicates that will be an outbreak of extreme fighting and war across nations.

What’s more the Sun will be approaching Ketu towards the eclipse period. There will be a crossover at point. Ketu will get the light from the Sun. Some myths will be broken, an at this juncture we need to accept and make decisions. Reading the scriptures will be most beneficial and gives you courage. Create new punya at this time for your own benefit by doing the right actions. The coronavirus will become more widespread in some nations, while the search for a cure will still be on.
New findings will come about before the end of this year in terms of the pandemic, but healing has to first happen by strengthening your mind, body and soul. And that is the lesson of this year.
As described in the earlier articles, that when Rahu and Ketu changed their axis in April and September respectively to Taurus and Scorpio and will stay there till 2022 which will result in massive healing.
So, when we describe planetary transits and energy shifts, these take place over a period of time and you may want to go back to previous articles and the links I have given here to see things in its totality.
November 16: Venus enters Libra
Now for some pleasant news – After being debilitated for a while Venus enters its own sign of rulership and does very well in the sign of Libra. It is a good time for love and romance, as this could have taken a backseat because of the pandemic. This balances out to some extent the social unrest that is about to occur. Venus in the nakshatra Swati also gives rise to creativity. The economy will also show some recovery.
November 20: Jupiter enters Capricorn
Jupiter transits into Capricorn and will remain till April 5th, 2021. This is an important transit. Though Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn, it will be positioned with Saturn in its own house and the debilitation will cancelled to a large extent (Neecha Bhanga). That it is also aspected by Rahu will ensure that all three will bring expansion to the economy. Certainly, a hopeful and positive transit after a tumultuous 2020.
November 28: Mercury enters Scorpio
On this day Mercury is coming close to the eclipse degree in December. This eclipse with Ketu does show the research and discoveries that are about to be made public. The sign Scorpio is an intense and profound sign that gets to the bottom of everything. It also rules the underworld and also indicative of corruption and scandals. There will be amazing discoveries in health and healing and the financial corruption taking place in the world. One thing after the other – things will uncover. You are already part of transformation.
November 29: Neptune Direct 24 degrees Aquarius
Neptune stations after being retrograde. It is the planet most associated with scandals, secrets, and deception, and as it changes directions and is stationed at this time, many of the deceptions in the world will begin to shed light on all the problems plaguing the world, especially that of the coronavirus. Politically, there will be massive uncovering that will shock the world. It will likely involve China- not just in the previous few years but way back.
November 30: Lunar Eclipse 14 degrees Taurus
Interestingly, this Lunar eclipse will be extremely close to the fixed star Jyeshta or Antares that was mentioned earlier – which is the star of war. This marks a new violence that has had destructive effects on the world and particularly Turkey and China. These two transits uncover many truths that the world is waiting for.
I can’t wait for this month to unfold. Until December, stay safe! And I repeat – A rising tide lifts all boats – so send out positivity and live your best life.
Hari Om.

This had to happen Aparna- that’s the way I look at it. The planets are the cosmic visualisation of the same deities we worship. And they will be pleased only if we perform our dharma. Thank you for your appreciation. Please do click on the star button whenever you like an article 🙂 . And I am always enthused with your comments.
